They say rain on your wedding day is good luck.  By the looks of this stunning wedding, we say it is true!  Samantha was positively radiant on her big day and her new husband was beaming from ear to ear!  The Breakfast at Tiffany's theme was so beautifully shown in all the details from the bride's Rebecca Schoneveld gown to the breathtaking floral arrangements by the Secret Gardener.  Congratulations to you both, we wish you a life of joy!

Leslie and Andrew celebrated the union of their families at Pear Tree Estates in Champaign, IL.  At their side were Leslie's two children: Ryanne and Braden.  The crisp spring weather was perfect for Leslie to wear a shawl from Andrew's grandmother who had recently passed.  We especially loved the airy color palette the couple incorporated into the big day.  Congratulations to this wonderful duo and we wish them many years of happiness!

What to do with your gown after the Wedding

What to do with your gown after the Wedding

What to do with your wedding gown?

You find your perfect dress.  It is AMAZING.  It makes you feel the same way your significant other does.  And then you get to wear it on your big day!  You feel so many things:  radiant, beautiful, perfect.

But after the big day, what do you do with that gorgeous gown?  So many of us will have it cleaned and preserved for enjoyment by future generations.  But before you do, how about you do one quick photo session?

So many photographers are now offering boudoir shoots for couples and it could be the most fantastic addition to your wedding portfolio (whether you set it out on public display depends on you!).  Imagine dimmed lights, you looking super sexy, and feeling everything you felt on your big day all over again.  Peek over some of these images below of wedding gowns for some after wedding inspo!

There will always be something about lace that is classically beautiful for weddings.  But today, there are so many more fabrics which can make a woman feel bridal and sexy!  Today, we want to highlight crepe.  This fabric has a wonderful stretch to it, allowing it to wrap around the body in all the right places.  Below, we have a few examples of how this gorgeous material can be enjoyed.

First, we love this plunging sweetheart shaped V-neckline.  French crepe has a bit more weight to it, making it possible to hug without showing all the little spots ladies don't want on display.  Not to mention, this train is BANANAS.

Next up is a similar V neck style but with a cap sleeve embellished in delicate crystals.  Not only does it have a gorgeous top, but this designer also added subtle seams under the bootie to really highlight the "assets."

Lastly, this gown is for the girls who like to surprise their guests!  This modest front neckline is classic and demure, but when you turn, a plunging backline is displayed.  Who doesn't love a hot surprise!

Lace is timeless.  It has that classic feeling which makes almost any woman feel like a bride.  Until currently, there has been one predominant type.  Not anymore!  Modern laces come in so many styles, widths, and designs.  Today, we are highlighting some of our favorite types of statement lace.

We are positively dying for this laser cut crepe which is designed to look like lace.  Why choose between your two favorite fabrics when you can have both!

Next up is a French lace which is created to mimic a vintage crocheted pattern.  With the large designs in the lace, you can really get some phenomenal pictures!

If you are a bride who wants to be a bit edgier, this next lace is perfect!  A large guipure lace in a floral design really gives a wedding dress some POP!  We love it is avaialbe in a tanned and a more traditional ivory.

Lastly, a delicate lace can be just as statement making when set on a modern bridal gown.  Here, we have a modest cut-out at the midriff to give a peek-a-boo without too much on display!

Top Trends: Long Sleeves

Fall is the perfect time to enjoy so many cool weather options!  A few of our favorites include oversized sweaters, pumpkin spiced everything, and long sleeve wedding gowns.  Sleeves have been making a huge trend return to wedding dresses, offering a new modern feel to an otherwise traditional look.

For the romantic lace bride, long sleeves can be stunning.  With a slight sheerness to the sleeve, plunging neckline, and illusion back, a bride can still feel sexy on her big day!

Lastly, some brides want a little more of an edgey feel on their wedding day.  Separates with a peek of skin offers both the feeling of coverage and modern sexiness.  Don't be afraid to mix and match, ladies!

One of our favorite parts of a wedding is when you get to cut into your wedding cake.  Whether you love a traditional white cake or something a bit more adventurous - they are ALL amazing!  We wanted to look into some of the trends we have been spotting lately in the culinary world regarding these delightful treats.  Maybe you will even gain a bit of inspiration too!

We had to talk about this new style first: the Translucent Cake.  She is the dolled up sister to last season's naked cake.  With the light layer of icing around the sides though, you can retail the moisture inside the cake we all love!  Decorate with flowers, drips, or even fruits accents!

Another favorite cake is the Watercolor.  Using soft strokes of colors on a basic base adds such romantic drama, we are so inspired!  Perhaps a wedding at a local museum?

Top Trends: Open Backs

Everywhere we look recently, it seems fashion is all about showing off the back.  This week, we are highlighting that gorgeous part with all the best backlines!  This is such an easy style to wear - whether you want something a bit more demure, or racy!

First, we love this clean, modern style.  The drape in the back adds just enough of a romantic touch and highlights the back perfectly.  Crepe is also becoming so popular due to its versatility with flowers and accessories.

For the romantic bride, lace is a timeless element!  Showing off your back can be done with illusion edging all the way around while still keeping the structure of the gown.

Keyhole backs are another way to show off your back!  With this simple style, you can still keep your shoulder straps from slipping.  We love the mixture of the completely open back with a flowier skirt.

Hello, Fall!

Hello, Fall!

Finally, Fall has arrived!  That means, bring on the pumpkin spice lattes, warm fuzzy sweaters, and cuddling with your loved one by the fire.  To start off this beloved season, we wanted to share some original ideas for your wedding in celebration of Autumn.  Tell us what you think or if you have other fun ideas in the comments!

First, let's talk about getting ready!  Those lovely ladies of yours are going to want to be in the Fall spirit!  Why not give them vintage flannel shirts instead of traditional robes to wear while getting ready?  These can also be worn after the wedding!

fall BM.png

Naturally, we would never forget the bride!  A little flannel shirt tied at the waist is an adorable way to show off your personal style (not to mention snag some great pictures!)

bride.jpg

So, you are your gorgeous girls are all ready for the big event.  What's next?  A little snuggle in come blankets!  Autumn is a wonderful time of year to really get cozy with our loved ones, so be sure to offer your guests a nice wrap to keep them warm!

cozyblankets.jpg

Again, you don't have to miss out on all the fun.  Grab one of those snuggly blankets for yourself and your new spouse and get a few more amazing snaps!

snuggle.jpg

You're married:  Congratulations!  Let the party begin!  The table can be set with a number of options, but we liked the idea of going a bit different.  Instead of flowers, why not decorate with something a bit out of the norm?  Mini pumpkins in varying colors and sizes offers your guests a chance to enjoy the sights and textures of a Fall wedding.

Perfect!  On to the cake cutting!  Or should we say.. donut?  Donuts are the hottest new trend for the season.  Not only are they delicious, but they also give that warm fuzzy feeling when dipped into hot cocoa or other toppings.  Guests will love the outside-the-box option.. and the ability to grab more than one flavor!

donuts.jpg

It's been a blast and your reception has been so success!  You will want to wrap everything up on a high note.  Why not with a little fire and some s'mores?  Your guests will be talking about this forever!
